The purpose of the Vermont Safety Education Center is to reduce death, injury and Alcohol,Tobacco and Other Drug use among young Vermonters. It also works to ensure young Vermonters make safe and healthy choices.

The VSEC Goals are:

  1. To develop among the young adults in Vermont an awareness of prevention, wellness and traffic safety issues.
  2. To decrease the prevalence of Alcohol, Tobacco and other drug use among young adult Vermonters.
  3. To reduce death and injury among Vermonters due to motor vehicle crashes, and alcohol & other drug use and suicide.
  4. To provide young adult Vermonters with opportunities for meaningful participation/contributions in their colleges, workplaces, schools, communities, and throughout the state.
  5. To provide parents with resources and skills to help them guide their beginning drivers through Graduated Drivers Licensing
